Testing Guidance - Spring 2023
COVID Response Center strongly recommends that employees, faculty, and students complete a COVID-19 test before returning to UC Merced.
Testing Options:
Self-Administered Antigen Tests: FREE antigen test kits are available for pick-up to students, staff and faculty at the following locations. (Due to limited supplies, you may pick up 4 tests per month.)
- Student Health Services (Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm)
- Located on the second floor of the Health and Athletic Center
- Classroom and Office Building 1 Ticket Office - Closed for Summer 2023
- Granite Pass Ticket Office - Closed for Summer 2023

UPDATE: *ACON Laboratories, Inc: Flowflex COVID-19 Antigen Home Tests have an expiration date that is extended by 12 months granted by the FDA on March 15, 2023.
You can also order free tests through USPS to be delivered to you.
Antigen Tests:
- Employees/Academic Faculty:
- If you have any symptoms of COVID-19 or have been exposed to COVID-19, call the COVID Response Center at 209-228-0000 or email COVIDresponsectr@ucmerced.edu to schedule a drive-up appointment.
- Graduate/Undergraduate Students:
- If you have any symptoms of COVID-19 or have been exposed to COVID-19 call the Student Health Center at 209-228-2273 to schedule an appointment. A telehealth visit with a provider will be scheduled and testing options will be provided.
PCR Tests:
Please note that the asymptomatic saliva testing at UC Merced ended on May 18, 2022. Please refer to the information that applies to you:

- Graduate/Undergraduate Students: If you have any symptoms of COVID-19 or have been exposed to COVID-19 call the Student Health Center at 209-228-2273 to schedule an appointment. A telehealth visit with a provider will be scheduled and testing options will be provided.
