Re: Spring Semester Student Update and Town Hall Announcement
To: All Undergraduate Students
January 11, 2021

Dear Bobcats,

This is a follow up to last week’s announcement that we plan to start the semester with remote instruction, that we have every intention to return to in-person instruction on January 31. We believe that by then we will be able to return to campus successfully and to maintain operations. We are still working on the logistics of how we will enact the newest guidance from the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). For the most up-to-date information on campus policies related to COVID-19, please visit the Essential Information Snapshot on the Do Your Part website.

A town hall meeting has been scheduled for undergraduate students and their family members on Wednesday, Jan. 12 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will provide you and family members an opportunity for have the latest information and ask questions regarding plans for spring semester.

As we gear up for the continuation of your academic journey, the pandemic has yet again forced a change in plans. We remain in touch with systemwide epidemiological experts and modelers and believe that the current plan of two weeks remote is a good decision. Each of you has demonstrated that flexibility over the past semester, and we owe to you the success that the university has had with our response to COVID-19.

Thank you!
