Wear a Face Covering when Universally Required
Generally, if you have submitted proof of vaccination, you are not required to wear a face covering. However, certain facilities require universal face coverings. Click here to see When to Wear a Face Covering
Enjoy the Fresh Air
Enjoy the Fresh Air Face coverings are not required when outdoors regardless of vaccination status, except when face coverings are explicitly required. Unvaccinated Individuals without face coverings must maintain physical distancing when outdoors.
Submit Daily Health Screening Questionnaire
Submit Daily Health Screening Questionnaire Every day, and before reporting to campus, individuals must respond to the daily health check email. If you have any symptoms, stay home, report your status to the COVID Response Center, and inform your supervisor. If you live on campus, stay in your dorm, and report your status to the COVID Response Center.
Wash Your Hands. Individuals should appropriately wash their hands several times a day, especially after being in a public place and touching an item or surface that was likely touched by others.
Respect Individual Choices
Those who wear face coverings when optional, keep physically distant, and/or refrain from handshakes, etc. are doing what they feel is necessary to protect themselves or loved ones, and will be free from judgement in our Bobcat community.
Wear a Face Covering
Please read UC Merced’s policy for details, which include exceptions to the requirement, such as when an individual is alone in a private office or in their campus residence. Face coverings may be removed while you are outside and can maintain physical distancing.
Take COVID-19 Tests Weekly
Provide saliva sample for on-campus rapid COVID-19 screening. Unvaccinated residents are required to take 2 tests per week. All others are required to take 1 test per week.
Options for Unvaccinated Individuals
Respirators are Available at No Cost
Respirators are available at any unvaccinated student or employee's request when working indoors. Student or employee will receive basic instruction on how to get a good "seal", or fit. Respirators can be picked up with an active CatCard at Granite Pass ticket office.
Unvaccinated individuals can change their mind at any time and recieve the COVID-19 vaccine. Once proof of vaccination is submitted, you are removed from unvaccinated requirements

Hand santizer, sanitization wipes, and face coverings will be available for personal use at no cost.
