Everyone Does Their Part: Vaccinated & Unvaccinated Individuals

Wear a Face Covering when Indoors

All individuals are required to wear face coverings on UC Merced controlled property when indoors, on UC Merced operated Public Transit, or while traveling in fleet vehicles when not alone. Please review the updated campus directive for further information including exceptions to the face covering requirement.

Submit Daily Health Screening Questionnaire

Submit Daily Health Screening Questionnaire Every day, and before reporting to campus, individuals must respond to the daily health check email. If you have any symptoms, stay home, report your status to the COVID Response Center, and inform your supervisor. If you live on campus, stay in your dorm, and report your status to the COVID Response Center.

COVID testing

Take your LQA COVID-19 Test at least Twice per Semester

Vaccinated individuals are required to take 2 randomly assigned COVID-19 tests per semester, via the Lot Quality Asymptomatic (LQA) screening program. You will be contacted by the COVID Response Center regarding when to take your tests. Campus Testing is free of charge for all UC Merced students and employees.

Healthy Behaviors

Wash Your Hands. Individuals should appropriately wash their hands several times a day, especially after being in a public place and touching an item or surface that was likely touched by others.

CA Notify

UC Merced recommends that all individuals sign up and use the CA Notify COVID-19 exposure notification system to stay informed and protected. Visit CA Notify for installation guidelines.

Enjoy the Fresh Air

Generally, face coverings are not required when outdoors. There may be times when face coverings are explicitly required. Unvaccinated Individuals without face coverings must maintain physical distancing when outdoors.

Respect Individual Choices

Those who wear face coverings when optional, keep physically distant, and/or refrain from handshakes, etc. are doing what they feel is necessary to protect themselves or loved ones, and will be free from judgement in our Bobcat community.

Unvaccinated Individuals Do Their Part

In addition to the mitigation measures above, unvaccinated or partially vaccinated individuals are required to:

COVID testing once to twice per week

Take COVID-19 Tests Weekly

Provide saliva sample for on-campus rapid COVID-19 screening. Unvaccinated residents are required to take 2 tests per week. All others are required to take 1 test per week.

Respirators are Available at No Cost

Respirators are available at any unvaccinated student or employee's request when working indoors. Student or employee will receive basic instruction on how to get a good "seal", or fit.  Respirators can be picked up with an active CatCard at Granite Pass ticket office.

COVID-19 Vaccination

Unvaccinated individuals can change their mind at any time and recieve the COVID-19 vaccine. Once proof of vaccination is submitted, you are removed from unvaccinated requirements
