Spring Housing

Re: Spring Housing
To: All students
Oct. 19, 2020

Dear Students,

At UC Merced, we value the strong spirit of community that supports our scholars during their academic journey. In order to promote community development and support student success, UC Merced is planning to allow more students to live on campus for Spring 2021.

The number of students who we will be able to offer contracts to will depend on our ability to support the health of campus community and comply with county and state public health guidance.

In order to be prepared for the widest range of possibilities, we are establishing a waitlist of students interested in on-campus housing for Spring 2021. Inclusion on the waitlist does not guarantee a student will be offered housing.

All interested students who do not currently reside on campus and are interested in living on campus this spring are encouraged to visit the Housing Portal and complete a housing application. We encourage you to learn more about our housing, parking, and dining options as you make living arrangement decisions for spring 2021.

We care about the health of our community and I invite you to learn more about how we are Doing Our Part and our Universal Requirements that have been implemented for campus.

For students currently living on campus, know that your contract extends through the spring semester.

Please stay up to date on the latest campus announcements by checking your UC Merced email and visiting the student FAQ page. If you have additional questions including understanding your financial aid package, please contact our Students First Center at 209-228-7178 or studentsfirst@ucmerced.edu.

Thank you for your interest in living on campus at UC Merced and for your continued patience as we determine how to best proceed and support you in your pursuit of academic excellence.

Go ‘Cats,

Charles Nies, Ph.D.
Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs
