The Update:
- CDC Update: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has released new guidance saying that those who are fully vaccinated no longer need to wear a mask indoors or maintain physical distance “except where required by federal, state, local, tribal or territorial laws, rules and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.” UC Merced has taken note of the CDC update, and is working with county public health officials on incorporating this into our planning for the fall.
- Vaccines at Health Services: Recognizing that the CDC's new rules are applicable to those vaccinated, UC Merced continues to strongly encourage vaccinations for all students and employees. This past week Health Services had a supply of extra vaccines available and may have more in the future. We will continue to provide updates accordingly.
